Tile Installation

In tiling, quality shows in joint alignment and a dead-level surface, not the tile itself — the workmanship is our signature.

Tile Installation

With large-format porcelain now standard, tiling has become its own specialism: slabs of 120×60 and above demand double-sided adhesive coverage (buttering-floating), because a hollow tile cracks under load. At EMC Decor every tile is bedded to full contact with a notched trowel, lippage is prevented with a levelling system, and joints are laser-aligned.

In wet areas, tiling always goes over waterproofing with drain slopes preserved. Grout options include stain-proof epoxy for bathrooms and kitchen splashbacks. We work demolition-included and report the substrate's screed and bonding condition at the survey.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can new tiles go over old ones?

Technically possible but we advise against it: floor height rises, doors clash and voids in the old surface transfer to the new. We work with removal plus proper substrate prep.

How is epoxy grout different from cement grout?

Epoxy grout is waterproof, stain-proof and mould-resistant — ideal for splashbacks and shower zones. It demands skill: cleaned wrong, it films over the tile, which is why it costs more in labour.

Do you supply the tiles?

Both models work: you can buy your own tiles, or we procure through partner dealers at project discount. Either way we calculate waste and recommend ordering with a 7–10% margin.

Do you tile over underfloor heating?

Yes — we use flexible (S1/S2 class) adhesive, tile after the system's commissioning heat cycle, and leave expansion joints per the layout.
